PROGRESS REPORT - 28/03/2011
A lot has been happening at the club during the past couple of weeks. Things seem to have 'moved up a gear'!!!
A fortnight ago Alan M and Rob started to lay the track for the new 'Thomas & Friends' themed layout, this has since been completed all in the space of about three club nights! Next job was to get it all ballasted so that the track could be cut in line with the baseboard joints. This was done at an alarming rate by me and Alan M.
Me, Alan M, John, Allan C, Chris, Jack and Dave (apologies if I have missed anyone) were last week getting stuck into taking down Dorehill St Stevens in preparation for the show at Walton in a couple of weeks. We broke this task up into two teams, one team taking down the boards and attaching the end stacking brackets and the others were cleaning the track and scenery. Turns out that there is actually a large room and dusty floor underneath all that layout!!!
Mike has been busy working away over the past three or so weeks cleaning all of the stock from Dorehill St Stevens as this has not been done since we got back from Derby show last May. He was continuing with this daunting task yesterday while Chris was clearing up all of the accumulated rubbish and salvaging anything useful from what had been left on the floor underneath Dorehill St Stevens.
Spring cleaning nearly complete and it's only March!! Haha!
